Opera for Everyone is a radio show and podcast that makes opera understandable, accessible, & enjoyable for a mainstream audience. It airs Sundays from 9-11am (Mountain Time) on 89.1 KHOL in Jackson, WY.
The show is hosted by Keely Herron and Pat Wright who were inspired to start the program after attending broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD performances sponsored by the Grand Teton Music Festival at the Center for the Arts in Jackson.
Keely doesn’t know much about opera and is woefully ignorant on history. Pat is a long-time opera lover and a former high-school history teacher, who very patiently answers Keely's endless questions about history and opera.
While the main focus of the show is traditional opera, other dramatic musical storytelling arts are sometimes featured. The pair are also occasionally ed in the studio by other guests who know a little or a lot about opera.
Hilarity ensues. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
